About the Role:

As an Outdoor Photography Assistant, your responsibilities will be diverse and demanding, requiring adaptability and a willingness to learn. You'll be an integral part of the team, contributing to all aspects of a photoshoot, from pre-production planning to post-production organization. Your primary duties will include but are not limited to:
Pre-Production Assistance: This involves assisting with location scouting (including research and logistical planning), gear preparation and organization (ensuring all equipment is clean, functional, and properly packed), and permit acquisition where necessary. You'll also contribute to the development of shot lists and storyboards.
On-Location Support: During shoots, you'll be responsible for assisting the lead photographer with various tasks, including carrying and setting up equipment (tripods, lighting, reflectors), managing cables and accessories, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. You’ll also assist in setting up and breaking down shots, ensuring the safety and well-being of the team and equipment.
Post-Production Assistance: This includes helping to organize and back up digital files, maintaining accurate records of shot locations and details, and assisting with basic image management tasks. Depending on your skills and experience, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to basic image editing and post-processing.
General Support: You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the shoots. This might involve tasks such as driving (valid driver's license required), navigating, communicating with clients or other team members, and assisting with logistics and travel arrangements.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Passion for the Outdoors: A genuine love for nature and adventure is crucial. You should be comfortable working in varied and sometimes challenging outdoor environments, including hiking, backpacking, and potentially navigating challenging terrains.
Physical Fitness: The role requires a high level of physical fitness and stamina. You should be able to carry heavy equipment for extended periods, hike for miles, and work long hours in demanding conditions.
Strong Work Ethic: You must be a highly motivated and reliable individual with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to exceeding expectations.
Excellent Organizational Skills: Meticulous organization and attention to detail are paramount to ensure the smooth running of shoots and the safety of equipment.
