Tools:* Jigsaw
* Drill

Instructions:Step 1: Cut the plywood
Use a jigsaw to cut a 18" x 18" square from the plywood. This will be the seat of the stool.
Step 2: Cut the 1" x 3" pine
Cut two pieces of 1" x 3" pine to 18" long. These will be the legs of the stool.
Step 3: Cut the 1" x 3" pine (back support)
Cut two pieces of 1" x 3" pine to 12" long. These will be the back supports of the stool.
Step 4: Assemble the legs and back supports
Attach the legs to the back supports using wood glue and screws. Make sure that the legs are flush with the bottom of the back supports.
Step 5: Attach the seat to the legs
Center the seat on the legs and attach it using wood glue and screws. Be sure to countersink the screws so that they are flush with the surface of the seat.
Step 6: Create the crossbar (optional)
If desired, you can add a crossbar to the stool for added stability. To do this, cut a piece of 1" x 4" pine to 6" long. Attach the crossbar to the legs using wood glue and screws.
Step 7: Drill holes for the bolts
Using a 1/4" drill bit, drill holes through the legs and into the seat. The holes should be spaced evenly apart and centered on the legs.
Step 8: Attach the bolts
Insert the bolts through the holes in the legs and into the seat. Secure the bolts with washers and nuts.
Step 9: Drill holes for the carriage bolts
Using a 1/4" drill bit, drill holes through the back supports and into the legs. The holes should be spaced evenly apart and centered on the back supports.
Step 10: Attach the carriage bolts
Insert the carriage bolts through the holes in the back supports and into the legs. Secure the bolts with washers and nuts.
Step 11: Sand and finish
Sand the stool to smooth any rough edges. If desired, you can apply a finish such as paint or stain to protect the wood.

Tips:* Use pressure-treated lumber if you plan to use the stool outdoors.
* You can adjust the height of the stool by cutting the legs to different lengths.
* To make the stool more comfortable, you can add a cushion to the seat.
* You can also add a backpack strap to the stool for easy carrying.
