DIY Outdoor Folding Fishing Stool237
Introduction:As an outdoor enthusiast, I spend a lot of time fishing and camping. One of the most important pieces of gear I have is a comfortable and portable folding stool. While there are many stools on the market, I prefer to make my own so that I can customize it to my specific needs.
Materials:- 12" x 24" piece of 3/4" plywood
- 12" x 12" piece of 1/2" plywood
- 4 1/2" x 24" pieces of 3/4" pine

- 4 3/4" screws
- 4 1/2" screws
- 1/4" nylon rope
- Sandpaper
- Wood glue
- Finishing nails
Tools:- Table saw
- Circular saw
- Drill
- Screwdriver
- Hammer
Instructions:1. Cut the plywood into the following pieces:
- 1 12" x 24" piece
- 2 12" x 12" pieces
- 4 1" x 24" pieces
- 4 1" x 12" pieces
2. Cut the pine into the following pieces:
- 4 1/2" x 24" pieces
- 4 1/2" x 12" pieces
3. Sand all of the pieces smooth.
4. Assemble the frame by attaching the 1/2" x 24" pieces to the long edges of the 3/4" x 24" piece. Use wood glue and 3/4" screws.
5. Attach the 1/2" x 12" pieces to the short edges of the 3/4" x 24" piece. Use wood glue and 3/4" screws.
6. Attach the 3/4" x 12" pieces to the inside of the frame, flush with the top and bottom edges. Use wood glue and 1/2" screws.
7. Cut two pieces of nylon rope to desired length minus additional length for tying knots.
8. Drill a hole in each end of the 3/4" x 12" pieces. They should be approximately 1 inch from top and bottom and directly in the middle.
9. Thread the nylon rope through the holes and tie a knot in each end.
10. Secure the 1" x 24" pieces to the frame using finishing nails.
11. Place the 1" x 12" pieces on top of the frame which will be the seat. They should be flush with the top of the frame. Secure them using finishing nails.
Conclusion:This DIY folding stool is perfect for fishing, camping, or any other outdoor activity. It is lightweight, portable, and can withstand even the most rugged conditions. The best part about this stool is that you can customize it to your specific needs. For example, you can make it taller or shorter, wider or narrower, and you can even add a backrest.
