Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province - A 76-year-old man was found alive on Monday, January 2, 2023, after going missing during a solo ski trip in the mountains surrounding Harbin, China. The man, identified only by his surname Zhang, had set out for a day of skiing at the Yabuli Ski Resort on Sunday morning, but failed to return home that evening.

Zhang's family reported him missing to the authorities, and a search and rescue operation was launched involving local police, volunteers, and ski patrol teams. The search continued throughout the night, but was hampered by heavy snowfall and poor visibility.

On Monday morning, a search team spotted Zhang's tracks leading away from the main ski slopes and into a secluded forest area. They followed the tracks for several hours until they found Zhang sitting by a tree, weak and disoriented.

Zhang was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation. He was found to be suffering from hypothermia and dehydration, but was otherwise in good condition. Zhang told rescuers that he had lost his way while skiing and had become stranded in the forest.
