Objective:
To provide participants with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively engage in outdoor rock climbing in a small group setting.
Prerequisites:
* No prior climbing experience required
* Basic fitness and mobility
* Comfortable with heights
Materials:
* Climbing shoes and harness
* Belay device and locking carabiner
* Climbing rope
* Helmet
* Quickdraws
* Chalk bag
Outline:
Day 1:
* Introduction and Safety:
* Overview of rock climbing equipment and terminology
* Knot tying and rope handling
* Climbing ethics and safety guidelines
* Basic Climbing Techniques:
* Top roping setup and belaying technique
* Proper footwork, hand placement, and body positioning
* Leading and following techniques
* Climbing Practice:
* Practice lead and follow climbing on a variety of routes
Day 2:
* Multi-Pitch Climbing:
* Multi-pitch anchor systems and belaying techniques
* Efficient rope management
* Rappelling and emergency procedures
* Advanced Climbing Techniques:

* Slab climbing and friction moves

* Wilderness First Aid for Climbers:
