I've packed accordingly, bringing along a variety of fishing rods – a sturdy telescopic rod for casting further, a shorter, more sensitive rod for close-range fishing, and a specialist carp rod for those hopefully sizable catches. My tackle box is brimming with different hooks, weights, and lines suited to the varying water conditions and the targeted species. I've also brought along a selection of baits, from commercially prepared carp pellets to some locally sourced corn and even some earthworms I dug up this morning – a classic fishing trick!
